So with the holiday season in full effect. You are probably looking for that perfect outfit to wear to your annual Christmas party. Am I right? I know I am. Christmas time is a good excuse to get dolled up and wear that classic red lipstick that you may not usually wear (in my case that is all year round). With that said what are some good styles to be on the lookout for this year? Well I am glad you asked. The latest trend is velvet. Velvet is so nostalgic for me, being a 90s kid and all. To me it just screams Happy Holiday! Dresses made of a velvet material would be perfect with tights. Then pair it with some heels or dressy booties. Another trend that is a true classic for the holidays is a tulle skirt. Tulle skirts are fun and very versatile. A cute cardigan about waist height with buttons would pair good with one (should be more fitted). Then of course some flats or heels to top it off. Another outfit idea would be some nice dress pants with a sparkly sweater.
Below I paired a velvet tunic with a tulle skirt. The tunic worked well being tucked in because the skirt is not fitted. Obviously a fitted skirt would not do well with that much extra material underneath. The criss cross style of the tunic is what originally drew me to it along with the fuschia color. You can never go wrong with a pop of color like red or pink. The belt was the perfect accessory to tie it all together. The sparkly accessories for this outfit added that glamour effect.
