A Grateful Heart

GRATIUDE-quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.

Today my mom had her appointment with the radiation doctor to go over the results from her MRI on Monday. The appointment was at 1 PM. So I was pretty on edge the entire morning. When I got the text from my dad telling me the tumor had some shrinkage and had not grown. The first word that came to mind was GRATITUDE. I owe so much GRATITUDE to God. The road up to this point has not been an easy one. And I know we still have a long journey ahead. But just recieving a good progress report today makes all the difference in the world. Any progress is good progress. Especially when you are dealing with something as vile as cancer. Even before my mom’s appointment today I could see a difference with her. However seeing those results on paper just solidifies the improvement.

Now you may be wondering what the next step is? Well we want a second opinion for treatment. Meaning cancer centers in bigger cities are going to have more resources. Such as MD Anderson, which we have already contacted. Now we just need to get the consultation and information over to them. Thankfully, mom’s radiation doctor said he would help with process. We did not set-up the appointment prior to the scan because we knew they would want the results. So now that we have those, we can proceed with setting up an appointment. It would be a long trip, but in my mind worth it. After all, they were voted the nation’s #1 leading cancer center. We just want to know we have explored ALL possible options. Mom deserves that much. She would do it for us if the situation were reversed. Thank you for all the continued prayers and support! I know I say that a lot, but it means more than you know. Especially on a day like today.
